Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) warns of strong wind and high seas from Friday afternoon to Sunday. The northwesterly wind will range from 18 to 30 KT gusting to 38 KT at places at times and so the department issued a marine warning.
Today, March 12, QMD also warns of low visibility as its latest satellite images show dust mass approaching the country. On Twitter, QMD stated that the impact of the dust mass will take effect in the next few hours.
The department also further stated that this weather condition will likely affect the country from this evening until tomorrow.
The wave heights will also range between 6-10 FT rising to 14 FT at places at times.
Meanwhile, the department also stated that the country will be witnessing a gradual rise in temperatures in the coming days, noticeably on Friday with the maximum temperature varying between 33-39 degree Celsius.
This is due to the deepening of low pressure. The weather will begin to be hot during the day with blowing dust which will lead to lack of visibility sometimes.
Due to this weather condition, QMD urged all citizens and residents to avoid marine activities during this period.
