Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced on Twitter that "services for all non-COVID-19 patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Al Wakra Hospital have been transferred to Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC) to receive the necessary care." This is in line with an earlier announcement that Al Wakra Hospital was designated as a medical facility for Covid-19 cases.

The Ministry also mentioned that all Al Wakra patients due for outpatient appointments will be contacted either through a phone call or a text message to inform the patients that they have been booked for a virtual or face-to-face consultation. It also added that patients can call the Al Wakra Hospital hotline numbers 4011 5442/4011 4755 for assistance.

In the same tweet, MoPH also added that all women with obstetric or gynecological issues, who are residents of Al Wakra and the surrounding areas, in need of urgent obstetrics and gynecology services are required to call the Women’s Wellness and Research Center Emergency Department on its hotline number 4026 1091.

"A specialist doctor will evaluate the urgency of the women’s complaint and provide advice whether to report to Women's Wellness and Research Center’s Emergency Department or other health provider facility as appropriate," MoPH said in a tweet.

The Ministry also affirmed that the ambulance service is also able to provide rapid support for severe medical emergencies.
