DOHA: The first government-funded nursery school in Qatar is expected to open next year.
The facility, being established by Supreme Education Council (SEC) will enrol children aged six months to four years, Mona Al Kuwari, an academic expert at the SEC told a seminar here yesterday.
Addressing the seminar on the “right to development” at Four Seasons hotel, Al Kuwari said, citing a survey, that not a single Qatari child of school age has been left out of education.
The country aims to provide education of high international standards and the ultimate aim is to invest in human capital, she added.
A number of new projects are currently underway in education sector, including establishment of new schools, nurseries and kindergartens and upgrading of existing schools.
