ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) of Imran Khan yesterday filed a miscellaneous petition in the Supreme Court over alleged tampering in ballot bags for the NA-118 constituency.
The petition was submitted in the Apex Court by PTI’s counsel Hamid Khan and alleged that the acting chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), Imtiaz Tajwar, was involved in the rigging. The application alleged that vote bags were tampered with under a scheme engineered by the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N). It also alleged that the government had changed the Nadra chairman at the time for this very purpose.
The petition added that the issue of verification of votes for the NA-154 constituency was also pending with Nadra, adding that the PTI did not trust the authority’s current leadership on the matter.
