Doha, Qatar: Qatar Rail has reassured commuters of the safe and efficient movement of trains across the Doha Metro network, highlighting the role of its Integrated Control Center (ICC) in maintaining smooth and reliable services around the clock.
Located in Al Wakra, the ICC serves as the operational heart of the Doha Metro, where operators use advanced Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) technology to continuously monitor train positions, speeds, headways and overall system performance in real time, Qatar Rail said in a social media post.
The real-time monitoring capabilities allow operations teams to identify potential issues at an early stage, make necessary adjustments and coordinate services across the network, helping maintain the reliability and efficiency of metro operations.
Qatar Rail manages, operates and maintains the Doha Metro, which comprises the Red, Green and Gold lines and is integrated with the Lusail Tram network. Key interchange stations, including Msheireb and Al Bidda, enable passengers to move between different parts of the network.
The company has emphasised safety, reliability and accessibility as key elements of its public transport services. Against this operational backdrop, the ICC’s round-the-clock monitoring and response functions provide an important layer of oversight, enabling Qatar Rail teams to respond to operational requirements and keep the metro network running smoothly .
