Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) signed an agreement with the Turquoise Mountain Trust (TMT) to open up new horizons of partnership to improve livelihoods in conflict zones, especially for women
The agreement comes under the umbrella of Women in Conflict Zones (WiCZ) Initiative for the Response, Resilience, and Global Engagement: Alleviation of poverty in a humanitarian crisis through direct support for livelihoods for female weavers program in Afghanistan. The deal aims to propose a one-year pilot programme to alleviate poverty in a humanitarian crisis by directly supporting the livelihoods of 3,261 female weavers.
Deputy Director General for Projects at QFFD Sultan Al Aseeri said, “It is with QFFD’s enormous pleasure to join efforts with Turquoise Mountain to address Afghan women’s essential needs by building resilience in the Afghani carpet sector by enhancing international market linkages.
