Noisy with birds chirping and lots of people — this is the first impression one gets of the Pet Alley at Souq Waqif. The alley is lined with pet stores selling everything, from fish and turtles to dogs and kittens. Brightly coloured baby chicks in pink, blue, green and purple are also on sale at some stores. Tropical birds and reptiles are some of the exotic creatures on offer. While there have been controversies about the condition of the animals at some of the stores, business continues to thrive.
