DOHA: The sixth Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) will be the longest this time because of the huge demand seen last year.
The festival, Doha’s most anticipated culinary event featuring 48 stands in nine zones, will be held from March 24 to 28 at the Museum of Islamic Art Park.
“This year we increased the number of days from four last year to five given the huge demand during the last festival,” Rashed Al Qurese, Chief Marketing and Promotions Officer at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), said at a press conference yesterday at the Museum of Islamic Art Auditorium.
“For five days, people can enjoy five-star meals from different hotels at affordable prices along with with entertainment,” added Al Qurese.
A wide variety of scrumptious menus highlighting a fusion of culinary cultures from around the world in addition to gourmet and organic food would be on offer at the festival.
Hosted by QTA and co-hosed by Qatar Airways, the festival has an extensive promotional campaign, including a 30-second TV commercial highlighting the activities and events to be held during QIFF 2015 for pan-Arab broadcast. He said the festival is expected to attract a lot of tourists from the region as the event will host a large number of restaurants and exhibitors and feature unique entertainment shows.

For the first time, Qatar Airways will host one of the most popular attractions, Dinner in the Sky, which will provide diners business class culinary experience with menus specially crafted by the airlines’ celebrity chefs.
