DOHA: Election to the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber, representative body of the private sector, is to be held today. The election is held every four years. However, if the quorum (50pc) of the Chamber’s annual general meeting is not complete, the meeting (to hold the poll) would be convened on May 28. The condition of quorum would not apply then. The Chamber has 29,000 registered members. Interestingly, election is to be held to pick only the lone member of the services committee. Members of the other committees are already decided. The sitting member of the services committee, Abdul Lateef Al Missned, is being challenged by rivals Abdul Rahman Al Najjar and woman contestant, Suhaila Rabia Al Hareb.
