Doha, Qatar: Loud sounds of explosions were heard at approximately 5:30am on Sunday morning from interception operations. This was followed by an alert from the Ministry of Interior raising the threat level, urging people to stay indoors and away from glass facades.
The Ministry also called on people to follow safety instructions and avoid unnecessary movement.
Bahrain's Ministry of Interior also stated that air raid sirens have been activated.
"Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place," it said.
