Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour, in cooperation with Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), organised an Open Recruitment Day, which attracted a large number of Qatari graduates and jobseekers seeking employment opportunities in the banking sector.

The event forms part of the Ministry’s efforts to support and empower national talent and enhance employment opportunities for Qataris in the private sector.

The organisation of the Open Recruitment Day forms part of the Ministry of Labour’s efforts to achieve the objectives of the Private-Sector Jobs Nationalisation Law and implement the pillars of the National Strategy for an Effective and Highly Productive Workforce 2024–2030, which aims to build a pool of qualified national talent and enhance its competitiveness in line with the needs and requirements of the labour market.

Assistant Director of the National Manpower Recruitment Department at the Ministry of Labour Mohammed Jumaa Al Kawwari, said that organising the Open Recruitment Day in cooperation with Qatar Islamic Bank reflects the Ministry’s commitment to providing quality employment opportunities for national talent and strengthening its presence in the banking sector and the private sector more broadly.

He explained that such events represent one of the channels through which the Ministry connects graduates and jobseekers with available employment opportunities, enabling them to familiarise themselves with labour market requirements and career development pathways and helping them take practical steps towards building their careers.

He noted that the Ministry continues its efforts to support Qatari university students and recent graduates, as well as children of Qatari women, by strengthening direct engagement with private-sector institutions and identifying their needs in terms of talent and specialisations. This contributes to aligning educational outcomes with labour market requirements.

Al-Kawwari highlighted the importance of partnership with private-sector institutions in supporting nationalisation objectives, stressing that attracting national talent and providing an appropriate working environment in which to develop their capabilities are essential to building a qualified national workforce capable of contributing effectively to the country’s development.

In this regard, Head of Human Capital Group at Qatar Islamic Bank Khalefa Al Mesalam, said: “We are pleased with the strong turnout of Qatari candidates at this year’s Open Recruitment Day. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Labour enables us to engage directly with national talent and provide clear pathways for professional growth. We remain committed to developing the next generation of banking professionals.”

The organisation of the event reflects the Ministry of Labour’s commitment to supporting Qatari university students and recent graduates, as well as children of Qatari women, and enabling them to explore employment opportunities in the banking sector and enter the labour market.
