DOHA: A workshop on ‘GCC nationalism’ (Mowatna) that concluded in Kuwait yesterday underlined the need for a GCC anthem, which would be sung at regional meetings of all kinds.
The meeting recommended that a GCC anthem be written and approved to popularise the concept of GCC nationalism among citizens of the member-states.
The coordinator of the workshop, Maisa Al Falah, undersecretary at Kuwait’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education, told a local news agency that the social values of a GCC national should be included in school curricula within a specified time frame.
