Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center (QTTSC) at the College of Engineering, Qatar University (QU), has announced the launch of the seventh edition of the ‘Road Safety Schools Ambassadors Programme’ for the year 2026.

The initiative is implemented by Mubadara for Social Impact, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the General Traffic Department, and UNESCO, and powered by JTA Innovation.

The programme aims to engage high school students across Qatar in innovative awareness campaigns that promote traffic safety and responsible road behaviour. By empowering youth to become active advocates for safer roads, the initiative supports the objectives of the National Traffic Safety Strategy and aligns with the Human Development Pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Throughout November 2025, Mubadara for Social Impact will reach out to all public and private schools across the country, encouraging broad participation. Schools wishing to join are invited to confirm their participation by 30 November 2025.

Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center shall conduct introductory presentations to participating schools during December 2025, introducing the programme objectives and providing basic information on road safety challenges in Qatar.

School-based competitions and road safety initiatives will take place from 1 December 2025 to mid-March 2026, providing schools with over three months of active engagement and learning.

A key highlight of this year’s edition is the introduction of the AI-powered “Qatar Traffic Safety Challenge,” programmed and sponsored by JTA Innovation. The contents of this platform in terms of road safety scenarios and the feedback to participants are developed and verified by the Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center.

This interactive and gamified experience enables students to test their road safety knowledge through engaging challenges and personalized AI guidance. The challenge transforms learning into a fun, immersive experience, inspiring students to become “Road Safety Heroes” and helping embed lifelong safe road habits.

The 2025 edition of the programme saw impressive participation, with 350 students from 60 schools forming 70 teams that competed with creative and impactful safety projects. Six finalist teams were honored at an awards ceremony during the Qatar CSR Summit 2025, held at QU in the presence of senior officials from partner organisations.
