DOHA: Doha will host the Arab Diabetes Medical Congress from April 23 to April 25. It will bring together experts and researchers from across the region.
Under the patronage of Supreme Council of Health (SCH), the conference is being jointly hosted by Qatar Diabetes Association, International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the executive board of the Health Ministers’ Council for GCC states.
The conference will discuss advanced ways of treating diabetes as well as innovative approaches to managing its complications.
Dr Mohammed Al Thani, Director of the Public Health Department at SCH, said, “According to the latest statistics of International Diabetes Federation (IDF), incidence of diabetes is up to 8.3 percent globally, 9.7 percent in the Middle East and North Africa, and three countries in the region are among the top ten countries in the world — Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.
