Quality Group International, headquartered in Qatar, further expanded their operations by inaugurating a Food Processing and Logistics Base in Guangzhou, Republic of China.
Quality International Exim Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group, launched its operation last Saturday. The world-class export centre will purchase, process, re-label and export food, non-food, chilled and frozen products made in China. The facility was formally inaugurated by Shamsudheen Olakara, Chairman of Quality Group, in the presence of the attendees including local and foreign officials as well as members of the Indian-Chinese business community. The Group has initiated this sector to facilitate the sourcing of food products and technically viable products manufactured across China and export to GCC, India and Far East.
Speaking to the gathering during the ceremony, Shamsudheen said, "Our group has been importing high quality Chinese made products for a long time to cater to thousands of shoppers through our retail and wholesale units."
He highlighted the longstanding relationships between Quality Group and farmers and manufacturers in China. The Company has developed trade relations with over 200 companies in China.
First phase consists of 60 employees, which is expected to eventually grow to the range of 150 to 200 employees within one year. The $2.2 billion turnover Quality Group operates hypermarkets, supermarkets and shopping malls, in addition to wholesale distribution, food processing and hospitality with operations in GCC, India and Far East.
