Geneva: Chairperson of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Chairperson of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) HE Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah met on Monday with the UN Acting High Commissioner for Human Rights HE Nada Al Nashif at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva.
During the meeting, they discussed means of cooperation between the GANHRI and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to protect and promote human rights in light of the many current humanitarian crises.
Also, Al Attiyah presented the most important recommendations of the International Conference on Climate Change and Human Rights, which is co-organized by the GANHRI, NHRC, OHCHR, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the Arab League.
Chairperson of NHRC and GANHRI met with GANHRI Geneva Representative Katharina Rose in the presence of GANHRI Secretary Amina Bouayach. The meeting discussed the GANHRI agenda and the GANHRI Annual Meeting, which takes place on Wednesday at the UN headquarters.
