Doha: Qatar Career Fair (QCF), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, will host its second Summer Career Camp for Qatari nationals from August 24 to September 4, 2014. It has urged male and female high school students to participate to benefit from a wide range of stimulating educational programmes and workshops.
The summer camp, which will be held at Al Shaqab equestrian centre in Education City from 8am to 3pm, aims to create an engaging experience for Qatari youth by providing them valuable skills that will help them make better choices when planning their academic and career paths.
During the two-week programme, high school students will take part in a series of motivational career-oriented workshops that have been specifically designed to build their confidence by guiding them towards choices that can positively transform their future outlook. Separate classes will be held for boys and girls.
Abdulla Al Mansoori, Director of Qatar Career Fair, said, “We are keen to provide all types of necessary assistance that will contribute to the success of all Qatari youth by offering them expert career guidance that will ultimately pave the way towards a rewarding career. We urge high school students to take advantage of the Summer Career Camp workshops, which will enhance their skills in a number of crucial areas, such as decision-making, leadership, public speaking, teamwork, and entrepreneurship. This will help them plan perfectly for their academic and career future.”
In addition, QCF’s camp will give national youth the opportunity to visit leading organisations across Qatar, allowing them to gain first-hand insights into the real world of employment. All students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded participation certificates.
To ensure participation, students have been advised to register by Wednesday, August 20. In order to be eligible, Qatari students have to be in the 10th or 11th grade and have to obtain a letter of no objection from a parent or guardian.
The registration fee for the Summer Career Camp is QR1,000. However, students who complete the two-week programme will get a refund of QR500.
