Doha, #Qatar: The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) yesterday on X reinforced the nation’s digital defences through enhanced data governance and information security compliance during a specialised cybersecurity training series for 2026.
Organised by the Agency’s National Cyber Strategies and Policies Department, the programme is designed to build foundational knowledge, upskill local cybersecurity talent, and streamline risk management frameworks across state institutions.
The interactive sessions focused on equipping public and private sector professionals with practical tools to identify, classify, and protect critical digital assets. Participants received targeted instruction on applying the National Data Classification Policy V3.0, enabling organisations to categorise information based on sensitivity and risk profiles.
In parallel, the training provided hands-on guidance on implementing the National Information Assurance (NIA) Standard V2.1, ensuring that organizational systems and governance processes align with Qatar’s overarching cybersecurity directives.
Rather than focusing solely on theoretical concepts, the curriculum delivered a straightforward, logical framework for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
Key focus areas include ‘Asset Identification & Categorization’, which establishes clear protocols under the updated Data Classification Policy V3.0 to protect sensitive data streams.
On the other hand, ‘Standards Compliance’ maps organisational controls against the National Information Assurance Standard V2.1 to mitigate emerging threats.
Additionally, ‘Process Maintenance’ implements continuous monitoring, operational checks, and risk assessments to sustain long-term digital resilience.
By maintaining a consistent cadence of technical capacity-building workshops throughout the year, the National Cyber Security Agency continues to raise national compliance standards and fortify Qatar’s digital ecosystem against evolving cyber risks.
