DOHA: The Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum (QOSM) has come up with a brand new visual identity which reflects the distinctiveness of the museum to better connect to the public.
The museum is now named “3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum”, which Anita Schulze, Head of Marketing at QOSM, says exudes the museum’s active nature.
“In the last couple of months we have worked on a new visual identity for the Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum, which is 3-2-1. It should inspire people to be active, so the whole visual identity is not static, which will hopefully reflect what the museum will be in the future,” explained Schulze.
“Since we have a visual identity now, people have something to easily connect to, which will make them easily recognise us,” she said. The 3-2-1 will soon also have its own museum building adjacent to the iconic Khalifa International Stadium at the Aspire Zone. The Olympic museum is likely to open late next year.
As Doha is fast becoming a sports hub in the world, an Olympic museum would be a significant addition to the country’s current and future museums. Collecting sports artefacts which will be placed in the future museum has been going on in recent years.
Major sport exhibitions have been organised by 3-2-1 including the ‘Olympics — Past & Present,’ which was the biggest of its kind, featuring the Olympics and Qatari sports as well.
3-2-1 will be engaged for the upcoming ‘We Speak Football’ traveling expo, which will kick off in Brazil this year to coincide with World Cup, tour around the world and finally arrive in Doha in 2022. Among other countries where the expo will be held are Canada, France, Russia, Germany, South Korea and Japan.
“We will have smaller expos connected to sports events; the bigger ones would be towards the end of the year including the swimming world championships and Handball in January 2015,” said Schulze. The Peninsula
