Members of South Kerala Expats Association
Doha: The South Kerala Expats Association (SKEA) organised the Ooredoo Doha Virtual Marathon 2022 on Friday at Aspire Zone Park.
SKEA President Abdul Jaleel said Qatar’s sporting contribution to the world is incredible.
He explained that the group will likewise organise various sporting events in line with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The group’s sports conveners Saheer Basheer, Farookh A Samad, and Abdul Azeem led the event, which concluded at 10am.
Jaleel also commended SKEA members who volunteered during the last Arab Cup. SKEA is a socio-cultural organisation working among the expatriates
hailing from the Southern part of Kerala state of India.
It is one of the oldest community groups in Qatar and has over 300 active members and is actively involved in various community-oriented government initiatives and programmes.
Ooredoo Doha Marathon celebrated its 10th edition with a new route through Lusail City as a way of the telecommunications company’s aim to promote iconic places in Qatar.
This year’s distances are 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km.
