Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was yesterday released from a private nursing home here, but the doctors advised her to take two weeks’ rest.
Banerjee was admitted to the nursing home on Wednesday after she complained of breathing problems, palpitation and body pain besides low blood pressure and low pulse rate. Since Friday, Banerjee had been expressing her wish to go back home, though the doctors were in favour of an extended hospital stay.
“The medical team has advised her to take rest for at least two weeks,” a nursing home bulletin said. “Her vital parameters have stabilised. However, pain still persists in spite of medications and other supportive care,” the bulletin said. Earlier tests had showed fluid deposits in Banerjee’s knee.
