Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud held a telephone conversation.
Discussion during the call dealt with deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the latest regional developments, particularly ongoing diplomatic efforts and close coordination to de-escalate tensions, in addition to strengthening security and stability in the region.
During the call, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of all parties committing to dialogue and diplomacy and implementing what had been agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This includes ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard the security of the region, preserve the gains achieved, and reinforce regional stability, His Excellency underlined.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace in the region.
