Doha: Ooredoo has hosted the H H The Emir Cup trophy at its Doha headquarters, as part of a tour that the Cup is taking to promote the event.
As the main telecommunications partner for H H The Emir Cup, Ooredoo is running a special “The People’s Cup” campaign, to encourage as many people as possible to attend the matches and cheer on the teams.
On Sunday at Ooredoo Tower, a delegation of company’s senior officials welcomed the trophy, led by Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, CEO, and Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, Chief New Business Officer.
There was also a delegation of Group CEOs from the international operations of Ooredoo, led by Dr Nasser Marafih, Group CEO, Ooredoo.
Ooredoo’s senior executives will attend the final match of H H The Emir Cup, with Al Rayyan SC facing Al Saad SC at Khalifa Stadium on May 18.
Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani said: “All eyes are on the ‘The People’s Cup’ — the final match of H H The Emir Cup on Saturday. The Cup celebrates our leaders, our nation and our people, and we are pleased and proud to be playing our part in taking the Cup experience to the whole community. I wish both teams good luck, and expect the top level of sportsmanship in the final match.”
“The People’s Cup” campaign is in-line with Ooredoo’s corporate social responsibility programme, which includes promoting sport in Qatar. Sport brings people together, improves health, and encourages a better lifestyle for all, and Ooredoo has played a strong role. As part of the campaign, Ooredoo has seen a tremendous public response to a series of sports-themed activities and contests at Souq Waqif, Landmark Mall and Villaggio Mall.
Fans at the final match can participate in an Ooredoo prize draw, with the chance to win incredible prizes.
