Doha: The organising committee for QMARSEC (Qatar Maritime Security Coastal and Border Surveillance Conference) 2014 and Qatar National Security Shield Project (QNSSP), the host of the forum, have said the Prime Minister and Interior Minister
H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Maj. Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah will open and chair the two-day conference which opens today.
Staff Brigadier (Pilot) Mohammed A Al Mannai, Director, QNSSP, said, “The forum is committed to a value-driven programme, featuring top military and security officials from around the world and we welcome the head of Nato operations as the Nato secretary-general’s representative to give the keynote address.” The forum aims at achieving peace and public security. Matthew Cochran, Chairman of the organising partner, Defence Services Marketing Council, said, “We are honoured that QMARSEC is Qatar’s largest maritime security conference and delivers on the objective to serve as an incubator and accelerator of partnership and growth for the maritime defence, space and security industry.”
