Doha, Qatar: British Ambassador to Qatar H E Neerav Patel has praised the vision outlined by the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in his address at the opening of the Shura Council’s new session, highlighting the importance of strong institutions, effective governance, innovation, peace and mediation.
He also reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining a strong and reliable partnership with Qatar in addressing future challenges.
“Many congratulations to H H the Amir and the people of Qatar on the state opening of the Shura Council. The address from His Highness set out with clarity and purpose a set of priorities for Qatar for the year ahead. This is a confident vision that highlights the vital role of strong institutions, effective governance and innovation, alongside an enduring commitment to peace and mediation,” said Ambassador Patel.
“Across this whole agenda, in the face of whatever challenges lie ahead, the UK and Qatar shall remain indispensable, reliable and steady partners.
“We look forward to continuing our work together and I wish the Shura Council and all its members every success for the session ahead,” he said.
