DOHA: Qatar Science & Technology Park’s (QSTP) new series of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme (TIEP), last week received a group of 29 entrepreneurs interested in learning how to manage technology-based business.
The six-month executive education programme is action-based and focused on capacity-building through real-world experience in developing technology-based innovation projects from local universities, companies and research entities in alignment with the technology development strategy of QSTP and QNRS.
This year’s group includes seven young Qatari men and women.
QSTP Innovation Department, which runs the TIEP programme, worked with Stars of Science to identify candidates eligible to receive this year’s QSTP-TIEP Award among the finalists of the show. Five of the 16 finalists were shortlisted to undergo world-class training in technology-based entrepreneurship through TIEP.
TIEP participants come from a range of organisations, including QSTP tenants, local universities, ministries, and private organisations spanning ICT, energy, environment and healthcare sectors,
The first analysis module is the Market Module which started on Sunday and participants will analyse market and industry attractiveness, sources of competitive advantage and how their solution meets key customer needs.
This year’s laureate is Hekmat Alrouh, MD. A graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q), Hekmat currently works at the WCMC-Q Department of Global and Public Health where he coordinates public health and research projects sponsored by WCMC-Q.
