Doha: The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage yesterday launched Qatar’s 2015 appreciation and incentive awards in sciences, arts and literature.
The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage and Chairman of the board of trustees for the awards H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Qatari scientists and innovators in different fields were present.
The Minister expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for supporting the awards and motivating scientists and innovators and said the Emir gave a fantastic and exceptional model in recognising Qatari scientists and innovators last year when he honoured the winners at the Emiri Diwan, which reflects his appreciation for science, arts and literature.
Dr Al Kuwari also praised the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani who launched the awards and said the leadership believes that the real investment is that in humans.
The Minister also launched a website for the awards in Arabic and English. A third edition in French will be launched soon.
The website includes details about the awards, including their objectives, criteria and categories and the option of posting data and updates on social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
