A sports fest was conducted on National Sport Day in Wakra stadium by a group of 23 panchayaths on the banks of Chaliyar river in Kerala, India.
Vazhakkad panchayath became the overall winners in the sports fest followed by Kodiyathur panchayath and Feroke panchayath in the second and third position respectively.
K A Rehman memorial trophey for the overall championhip trophey was received by Abdul Sathar, WAQ president, T P Akber, vice president and Jaisal Elamaram team captain.
Sports fest started with a parade from Pearl roundabout in Wakra to the stadium. It was followed by a march past of around 500 people from various panchayaths. Flag off was received by eminent football player Asif Zaheer, a resident of Mampad. Abdulla Salem Al Hamli, an official of QP was the chief guest. In March Past Feroke, Vazhakkad and Vazhayoor got first second and third positions.
