DOHA: IT giant Dell has seen impressive growth in Qatar in 2015, despite subdued market conditions. The Texas-based computer technology company has registered growth in enterprise business, helped by customer acquisitions last year.
“We grew all across the sectors especially in our enterprise solution group ( storage, Networking, X86, Software,...) by winning major acquisition accounts. Our main focus in 2015 was to expand our customer base by positioning Dell as an end to end solution provider in the data centre field and we covered all these solutions with our premium direct support mechanism which is based on 4 hours mission critical support with spare parts in Doha,” said Shadi Imad, (pictured) Area Manager-Qatar, Dell.
The current year is likely to be a tough year because of fall in energy prices which has impacted budgets of companies and government institutions. However, Dell expects to maintain its growth momentum in current year by diversifying and winning more deals in Qatari market which is marked by fierce competitions.
Dell is competing in Qatar market other IT majors such as HP (Hewlett-Packard), IBM and Lenovo.
“In 2016 our objective is to keep supporting our existing customer in the best possible way and grow our base by winning more and more new customers for Dell,” said Imad.
“In CSG (Client Solution Group which includes desktops, laptops, tablets), our major focus in 2016 is to win market share from our competition and grow quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year basis. We see a big demand for VDI ( Virtual desktop infrastructure) and Dell is one of the leaders in providing full comprehensive VDI solutions to customers,” he said.
“Government, Education, construction and security related solutions are some of the main sectors where we believe we can grow going forward” said Imad.
