Doha: Ministry of Education and Higher Education has taken action against a number of schools for not following Covid-19 precautionary measures.
Ministry has intensified its periodic and surprise inspection campaigns in public and private schools by its inspection teams and joint teams with the Ministry of Public Health.
These inspection campaigns have shown that most schools adhere to precautionary measures, while a few have failed to apply precautionary measures -- like not wearing the masks the correct way, not measuring the temperature of students before entering school, not adhering to social distancing between individuals or lack of sterilization tools.
These schools were referred to the Ministry's internal investigation department and penalties were imposed against these schools depending on of their violations.
In addition, a number of schools were temporarily closed and classes were diverted online, as per the protocol followed by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), due to the presence of Covid-19 cases among students and teaching staff.
The Ministry referred these schools to the internal investigation to find out the cause and source of these infections and to impose appropriate administrative penalties against them.
The Ministry also said that they are cooperating with the MoPH to complete vaccination of educational personnel in all schools in Qatar, who are currently in the priority list for vaccination, and also called on everyone to receive the vaccination, which is the main pillar in the prevention and protection of this virus.
Based on the approved protocol of MoPH, the Ministry urged everyone, who will receive the vaccine, to continue to adhere to the precautionary measures, especially wearing the mask and to maintain social distancing.
