Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a telephone call today from HE President Donald Trump of the United States of America.
During the call, they discussed the latest regional and international developments, in light of the rapidly escalating tensions in the region, particularly those related to the repercussions of the recent tensions on international maritime security and the stability of energy markets and global supply chains.
In this context, HH the Amir reiterated to HE the US President Qatar's role as a reliable partner in supporting the stability of global energy markets and its continued commitment to its international partners.
His Highness also stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to prevent further escalation in the region and to adopt diplomatic means as the primary way to address crises, in order to preserve the security and stability of the region and the world.
For his part, HE the US President expressed his country’s appreciation for the role played by the State of Qatar in regional mediation and its continued efforts to support stability, stressing the United States’ keenness to coordinate with the State of Qatar on various issues, especially those related to energy security and the stability of global markets.
