Collection management conference begins

DOHA: The 1st Middle Eastern collection management user conference opened yesterday at the Museum of Islamic Art. The conference is sponsored by Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) in partnership with KE software and facilitated and organised by Information management division.

“QMA has made a long-term investment in using EMu to manage our collections. This conference give us an opportunity to network, collaborate, share hands-on experiences and learned lessons, which are extremely beneficial to us as we continue to use the EMu system,” said Mansoor Al Khater, Chief Executive Officer, QMA.

The two-day conference was designed to provide advanced, valuable, relevant technical tools for diverse organisations, museums and individuals, working to implement, improve and enhance usage of EMu (Electronic Museum) system through workshops and training sessions.

The participants were given the opportunity to meet and network with technical documentation specialists from the Middle East and overseas, share professional experience, discuss current problems in the field and keep abreast with emerging technologies.
