Qatar striker Khalfan Ibrahim takes part in a training session with team-mates at Sheikh Khalifa International  Stadium, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of the 2015 Asian Cup qualifier against Yemen today.

AL AIN, United Arab Emirates: Buoyed by recent good form, visitors Qatar will be looking to pick up another win against Yemen today when the two sides meet in their 2015 Asian Cup qualifying match.

Last month, hosts Qatar hammered Yemen 6-0 in their first leg staged in Doha and coach Fahad Thani would be hoping for a repeat show today.

Qatar are in second place in Group D headed by Bahrain (7 points).

Qatar have six points from three matches while Malaysia are in third spot with a tally of four points.

Yemen, the bottom side in Group D, are yet to break their duck after three matches.

Coach Thani’s big hopes will be on strikers Khalfan Ibrahim and Sebastian Soria with both scoring during Qatar’s previous match against Yemen.

Ibrahim - the diminutive forward -  grabbed a hat-trick (2, 61, 76) while forwards Hassan Al Haydos (23) and Soria (70) provided the much-needed flair up front as Qatar picked up three points from the Group D encounter.

Qatar, following a few days of intense training behind closed doors at Aspire Academy - arrived in the UAE on Wednesday.

Yemen - under coach Sami  Hasan Al Nash - are playing their home games on neutral soil, this time at Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium here in Al Ain.

They have lost all their three matches so far - going down 0-2 to Bahrain, losing 1-2 to Malaysia before being hammered by Qatar 0-6 last month.

After their match in Al Ain, Qatar will fly directly to Kuala Lumpur for their next Asian Cup qualifier against hosts Malaysia.

The Group D match will take place on November 19.

The 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualification matches will determine the teams for the event to be held in Australia. A total of 16 teams will compete in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
