QSE’s main index gained 170.18 points last week

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index gained 170.18 points, or 1.69 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,224.13 points.
Trading value last week increased by 25.25 percent to reach QR1.63bn  compared to QR1.30bn. Trading volume increased by 18.06 percent to reach 54.98 million shares, as against 46.57 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 36.17 percent, to reach 21,845 transactions as compared to 16,042 transactions. Market cap rose by 2.01 percent to reach QR551.01bn compared to QR540.14bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 41.36 percent of the total traded value. Industrials sector accounted for 22.13 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.71 percent and Telecoms sector, which accounted for 10.73 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 33 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 26.35 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 19.25 percent and Industries sector accounted for 14.57 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 37.55 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 20.78 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.97 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 10.50 percent.
Of the 44 listed companies 30 ended last week higher, while 11 fell and three remained unchanged. Qatar Islamic Bank led trading value during last week accounting for 9.92 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 8.67 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 7.09 percent, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, the benchmark index dropped 134.86 points, or 1.30 percent, yesterday. The volume of shares traded yesterday increased to 11.07 million  from 8.8 million  on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR2.07bn from QR239.31m  on Wednesday.
Of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 43 saw trading yesterday. Of these 13 gained and 29 companies closed lower, one remained unchanged.
Indices of six all seven sectors ended in red yesterday.  
QSE Total Return Index decreased by 1.30 percent to 16,541.96 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped 0.61 percent to 3,775.44 points and QSE All Share Index declined by 1.10 percent to 2,810.38 points.
