Doha: A Qatari adventurer on his motorcycle is on a fascinating three-month trip to many archaeological sites that are more than 6,000 years old in Algeria. He has been to 83 countries and Algeria is the 84th to do on a motorcycle.

Khalid Al Jaber, a film producer and traveller, during his trip got acquainted with one of the most prominent and ancient Tuareg families, who had settled in Tassili and Sifar mountains.

An avid rider, Al Jaber has done many epic rides over the globe including one of the toughest rides ‘Between the Poles’.

During this ride on a Royal Enfield, he also visited Al Mihan Palace and the oasis of Telmaz to soak in the dazzling desert and traditional folklore.

According to Al Jaber the most challenging part of the trip was the visit to Illizi province, as the ride was over 1,000 kilometres and there were hardly any petrol or service stations. The years of experience riding in different terrains and conditions came handy as he has taken his motorbike to the remotest parts of the world during his expeditions.

Al Jaber also visited one of the most popular tourist camps in Illizi, in order to learn about the customs and traditions of the region. Al Jaber crossed many bumpy roads in the depths of the breath-taking desert and stopped at several places in Rock City or Sifar City to learn about the carvings, drawings and cave paintings that are nearly 10,000 years old.

Few years back he had done an epic odyssey “Between the Poles” ride from North Pole to South Pole covering over 40,000 km across 15 countries in North, Central and South America.

The 5-month ride was kicked off from Anchorage in Alaska and headed to top north to start the trip officially from the Arctic Ocean, which was the nearest spot to the North Pole, and then rode all the way to the bottom of South America in Ushuaia, Argentina and made his way up north to end the trip in Buenos Aires.
