Doha: Qatar Petroleum’s Operations Directorate recently held an event called the “DO Tawasul Day 2014” to provide an opportunity for newly trained speakers and presenters to showcase their communication and presentation skills.
The event, which was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre, featured the second batch of employees from QP’s Operations Directorate who had recently undergone training in technical writing and presentation skills.
The training programme was in line with the objective of Said Mubarak Al Mohannadi, Director of Operations (DO), who wanted to elevate the image of QP at international conferences by enhancing the presentation skills of speakers from the directorate. This objective was first realised when a group of presenters from QP performed exceedingly well at the International Production and Operations Conference and Exhibition (POCE), which was held in Doha in May 2012 by the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
The training programme has already benefited over 40 employees from QP’s Operations Directorate and its various departments, namely Dukhan Operations, Offshore Operations, the Drilling Department and Gas Operations.
The “DO Tawasul Day 2014” enabled the latest batch of presenters to demonstrate the techniques they’ve learned in public speaking as they spoke on various corporate topics. The event was attended by senior management from QP’s Operations Directorate, and Al Mohannadi personally honoured the outstanding presenters at the conclusion of the event.
The Best Presenter Award at the “DO Tawasul Day 2014” went to Mrs. Eiman Yousef, Business and Community Relations Coordinator at Dukhan Operations, while Mr. Hussain Ali Al Baloshi, Head of Reliability, and Ms. Hissa Al-Shriem, Budget & Cost Control Engineer (Dev) at Operations Engineering-Offshore Fields, placed second and third, respectively. The Peninsula
