Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of condolences to Emir of Kuwait H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah following the death of Sheikha Sebika Ibrahim Al Mudhaf, wife of the late Sheikh Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a condolence cable to the Emir of Kuwait.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable to the Emir of Kuwait.
Doha: The first Diplomatic Saloon meeting starts today in the presence of Minister of Labour and Social Affairs
H E Abdullah Saleh Mubarak Al Khulaifi.
The Assistant Foreign Minister, heads of departments and heads of diplomatic missions will discuss the condition of expatriates in the state. The meeting is the latest initiative launched by Diplomatic Institute at the Foreign Ministry to promote cooperation and communication between state officials and heads of diplomatic missions.
It also aims to provide missions with integrated and accurate information from approved sources. A high-ranking state official will be invited periodically to speak on a political, economic, social or environmental issue, especially those important regionally and globally.
Doha: The Ministry of Energy and Industry is holding the two-day 21st GCC Committee for Combating Harmful Practices in International Trade Meeting from today.
The meeting will discuss topics, including Harmonized System Code of anti-dumping and countervailing and preventive measures and related issues. Qatar will be represented by Saeed Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director, Industrial Development Department, who is also a member of the committee.
