K Abdul Karim receiving the Global Visionary Award
Doha: The President of the MES Governing Board, K Abdul Karim, was awarded the first-ever Global Visionary Award by the Global Group of Educational Institutes on March 12 at the Ashoka Hall in the Indian Cultural Center (ICC). The award was presented by the Second Secretary at the Indian embassy, Kuldeep Singh Arora.
In his speech, Karim attributed the success of MES Indian School to the joint efforts of all the members. The award selection jury opined that his significant contribution to the growth and development of the prestigious MES Indian School right from its inception has been phenomenal and worth emulating.
Karim is a senior retired banker from international banks in Qatar, profound visionary, passionate educationist, pragmatic leader, committed philanthropist and an active member in the socio-cultural scenario of Qatar hails from a family which has a lineage of 150 years in the field of teaching.
The Governing Board President is one of the founder members of Qatar’s oldest and largest expatriate school, MES Indian School, and some other prominent schools in Thrissur, India. A few of them are Ideal Education City in Thrissur, a sister concern of MES Endeavour International School in Ernakulam, ICA Higher Secondary School at Vadakkekad, Thrissur, and Salsabeel Central School in Thrissur. He has played a significant role in the development of MES Indian School, Qatar, and other schools in Thrissur.
Moreover, he is a founder member of the ICC and Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and an active member in many other institutions in Doha as well as in India. Also, he is the Chairman of the Centre for Information & Guidance of India (CIGI), Qatar.
