The Qatari delegation at the Commonwealth Law Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.
Cape Town: Qatar is attending the eighth Commonwealth Law Conference, which is under way in this South African city, as a guest of honour.
The Qatari delegation to the event, which has the theme, “Justice and the need of the international community for successful litigation”, is led by Judge Masoud Mohamed Amiri, head of the Court of Cassation.
Qatar was invited to the event by South Africa’s Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng.
On the sidelines of the conference, Amiri met with the top judicial figures from New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Singapore, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda and Chad.
During the meetings, they exchange views on the topics on the conference’s agenda, particularly mechanisms for judicial cooperation, alternative means for consideration of disputes and common experiences in this field.
Amiri also met with the Dean of the Canadian Judicial Training Institute, which is among the leading consulting firms in the preparation and training of judges. The two discussed ways of cooperation with the Institute in relevant fields.
The Commonwealth Law Conference is a prestigious event on the international legal calendar, providing an opportunity for judges, legal academics and lawyers from across the Commonwealth to meet and discuss topical issues.
