DOHA: The hashtag (#CrimeCongress) created for the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice has remained at the top of the trends on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, making many people engage with the congress.
Twitter got a large interaction as the tweets reached 7,000 with seven per minute.
The number of accounts which covered #CrimeCongress reached more than 2,600. Those tweets reached 73 million and the number of followers who have seen them reached 13 million.
The tweets that contained (#CrimeCongress) accounted for 45 percent and retweets 55 percent.
Since the Congress began its events, Sunday and Monday witnessed more tweets on the opening of the events and during discussions.
Most social media websites interacted with other hashtags, including (ruleoflaw, #myruleoflaw, post2015, UN, wildlife).
The Congress Twitter page witnessed the highest number of interaction with hashtag followed by pages of the UN and the Ministry of Interior.
The account of the Congress for the media committee witnessed the highest number of tweets followed by the account of the ministry.
The largely accessed tweets were posted through the account of the ministry and the UN. Related tweets, including photos and videos, reached 1,432 — 33.7 percent and those with links 3,822 or 54 percent.
The Facebook page of the ministry also saw a large number of interaction and engagement with a large number of photos and videos. The posts on the ministry’s page in Arabic and English and the Congress page reached more than 3m.
The Likes on the posts totalled over 100,000, comments reached 4,000 and shares 9,000.
