On the eve of 40th anniversary celebrations, Family Food Centre (FFC) has launched its 5th new store in Al Mirqab Al Jadeed Street. This new format is an express store and is named “Family Mart” - 40 years of fresh/40 years of serving. The realm of Qatar’s oldest organized supermarket chain is celebrating its 40th anniversary of delivering a unique combination of value, freshness, and quality to customers.
Over 120,000 customers visit Family stores each week, served by over 1000 Family friendly staff members. Five large stores span across Qatar, consisting of 220,000 square feet retail area.
The Family Food Centre stores are located at Al Nasr, Al Kheesa, Old Airport Road and Al Rayyan with the brand new express store in Al Mirqab Al Jadeed street.
On the occasion of the store launch, Family Food Centre Chairman Abdul Rahman Al Ansari said: “Starting 1978 in this very same street, Family Food Centre, a brand native to the Qatar has been serving its people with the best products.”
He said that worldwide food and products are something that is synonymous to what Family Food Centre has to offer. Four large stores are our identity over the last 40 years. “At this occasion, we will like to present to you an all-new format, which packs everything you, need conveniently and smartly.”
He said that the look and feel of the store was something that was very new to Qatar. “Family Mart is the first store in Doha Souq Mall and offers more than 500 parking slots for our customer’s convenience. The very concept of this store is essentially a combination of the best practices, learning and customer stories of love and loyalty. Our customers, our suppliers, and our service are together what make us Family Food Centre.”
FFC outlets offer a huge range of products that meet the requirements of customers from every nationality. From a humble beginning in 1978 with three employees and a two-shutter shop at Al Nasr, FAMILY has come a long way. In 1984, FAMILY renovated from the humble shop to a small-town center shop (supermarket) with two checkouts and is the first in Qatar to offer self-service and to have prices on products.
