DOHA: More than 60 percent of the school directors/principals in Qatar are citizens, according to data released by the Supreme Education Council (SEC).
Ninety-nine percent of the heads of Independent schools are citizens, and the ratio is 14 percent in Arabic private schools and eight percent in international schools, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday.
Seventy-five percent of the Qatari Independent school directors hold a bachelor degree, three percent hold a lower degree and 23 percent have higher degrees.
However, in Arab private schools, 42 percent of the Qatari directors don’t hold a bachelor degree and the ratio is 13 per cent in international schools. In total 11 percent of the Qatari school directors dot not have a bachelor degree, said the daily.
