DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with the Malaysian Prime Minister, Mohamed Najib Abdul Razak.
Discussions dealt with ties between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, as well as regional and international issues, particularly the situation in the Gaza.
DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to the South Korean President, Park Geun-hye, on her country’s National Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent a congratulations cable to President Park.

DOHA: Al Rayyan Municipality has closed several branches of a hypermarket for 10 days for selling expired chicken products. The branches are in Al Assiri, Al Khalaifiyaat, Al Jadeeda, Al Mamoura, Mesaimeer, Ain Khalid and Abu Hamour.
The Doha Municipality also closed down a bakery in New Doha for seven days after inspectors found substandard materials that could affect human health.
According to the law, closed outlets are not allowed to open for business or do any activities on the premises during the period of closure and any violation could lead to further punishment.
