MES Indian School celebrates Indian Independence Day

MES Indian School celebrated India’s Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and much enthusiasm. The function was organized at the K G Auditorium of the school.
The chief guest for the celebration was P K Mohammed, Acting President of the school Governing Board.
Mohammed unfurled the Indian National flag followed by the rendering of the Indian National Anthem by the school choir. This was followed by an inspiring Indian patriotic song sung by the students.
In the presidential address he said: “We are lucky that we were born in an independent country like India, while our forefathers had to sacrifice their whole life for fighting for independence of our nation, the fruit we are enjoying today.”
He also added that “our former President A P J Abdul Kalam has dreamt of a developed India by the year 2020. Kalam has always motivated the youth of India to “dream dream dream”, because dream transforms to thoughts and thoughts results into actions.”
Mohammed expressed his condolences on behalf of the school to the family of Jamaludheen, (CBSE I), student of MES, who passed away last week when he met with a tragic car accident in India.
Kashif Jaleel, Acting General Secretary, Directors  T K Aboobacker,  Hasmal Ismail, Zubair, Anees Abu, Kunhu Mohammed, Siraj Ahmed Geetay, Acting Principal, Administrative staff, teachers, students, parents and media representatives attended the function.  Sufera Ashraf, teacher at MES compared the programme.

The Peninsula
