Doha: The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs  H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi has expressed Qatar’s rejection and disapproval of statements by Libyan Premier Abdullah Al Thinni concerning Qatar’s interference in Libya’s internal affairs.
In a statement, Al Rumaihi said the allegations and claims were misleading and unfounded, adding that Qatar’s policy is based on clear and consistent foundations: Mutual respect and non-interference in the affairs of other countries.
He said it would be appropriate for Al Thinni to ensure accuracy before releasing such statements, especially since he did not say a word against the recent bombing of Libya and its citizens and did not criticise armed interference in his country.
He asked Al Thinni not to involve Qatar in Libya’s internal differences and reiterated Qatar’s keenness in the brotherly Libyan people’s security and stability, reflected in Doha’s continuous support for them since the beginning of their glorious revolution.
He urged all Libyan parties to allow reason and wisdom to prevail over force and arms and start comprehensive national dialogue to meet the Libyan people’s aspirations and uphold Libya’s security and integrity. QNA
