QU to hold 44th graduation ceremony in October

Doha: Under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar University (QU) will celebrate its Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2021 (male students) on October 11. 

The ceremony for distinguished female students will be held in the presence of H H Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, wife of H H the Amir, on October 12. 

Safety and precautionary measures approved by the state will be undertaken during the event due to the pandemic. Attendance will be limited to graduates and organisers to maintain adequate social distancing. This year, early preparations were underway to facilitate the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021, with a total of 3,646 graduates, of which 2,818 are females and 828 males. The university will release further details about the event soon.

The university stated that as it graduates its 44th cohort of graduates, it continues to chronicle a long history spanning decades of contribution to Qatar’s development and prosperity through boosting the labour market with qualified graduates.

QU added that its new strategy emphasises elevating the student experience by placing QU as a pioneer and a leading educational institution in the higher education sector in Qatar and abroad. QU is committed to providing quality education in areas of national priority, moving towards building a knowledge-based society.
