Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Emiri Diwan.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud said the session made decisions, including approving amendments to many provisions of law no. 9 of 1993 on regulating work of joint committees and amended their bonuses. It also allowed delegating Ministers to name panel members. Ministries and government authorities must ensure that when they recommend a new committee, its work does not interfere with an existing panel.
The Cabinet approved a proposal by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology to include a representative from the ministry into Maritime Law Permanent Committee. It endorsed a draft agreement on aviation services between Qatar and Burkina Faso, and a protocol agreement amending some provisions of a cargo agreement between Qatar and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Cabinet reviewed issues, including  views of the Ministry of Interior regarding amendments to several provisions of law No. 6 of 1987 on drug enforcement; and a proposal by the Minister of Information and Communications Technology on a draft ministerial decision on the revenue of digitalisation. The draft is part of a digitalisation  plan to ensure it is implemented using the best international standards.
The Cabinet discussed two proposals by the Minister of Business and Trade on recommendations for revising Qatar’s trade policies at World Trade Organisation. QNA
