DOHA: The Kuwaiti Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of Communications Essa Ahmad Al Kandari said that drawing up a work plan and setting a timetable for the GCC Railway by 2018 topped recommendations by a meeting of the GCC Ministers of Transport Committee in Kuwait.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the 18th ministerial committee meeting and the 19th meeting of the undersecretaries of the GCC Transport Ministries, Kuwait news agency KUNA said.
Recommendations by the ministerial committee cover issues likely to help achieve a quantum shift in land and maritime transport in the GCC, he said.
He said the GCC countries are requested to notify the GCC General Secretariat of their remarks on the project by November-end. QNA
