Islamabad:  As a gift to the residents of Pakistani capital of Islamabad, the Chinese government has set up a solar power plant in F-9 Park, also known as Fatima Jinnah Park.
The F-9 solar power plant project is a grant-in-aid scheme, implemented with the cooperation of the Chinese government. The Chinese ambassador, Sun Weidong, handed over managerial control of the plant to Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz at a ceremony held at the park on Friday.  The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad organised a ceremony for the ‘Handing over of F-9 Park Solar Lighting Project’. Speaking at the ceremony, Sun said he was delighted that the plant was set up in a park.
He said: “This is a gift from Chinese government and people for residents of Islamabad, as a symbol of friendship between Pakistan and China.”
