DOHA: Doha Film Institute (DFI) is set to launch the ‘Hekayat Khaleejiya’ (Khaleeji Stories) with the screening of Nawaf Al Janahi’s Sea Shadow at 7pm tonight at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).
The DFI year-round film appreciation programme showcases Khaleeji films to the Doha community every three months.
The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with director Nawaf Al Janahi and screenwriter Mohammed Hassan Ahmed. Another screening will be held tomorrow.
Set in a small seaside neighbourhood in the UAE, Sea Shadow follows teenagers Mansour and Kaltham as they struggle with tradition in their journey towards adulthood. Bound by family conventions and deep-rooted values, the pair must find the courage to forge their own paths.
The series was introduced to the community in Doha at a special reception on Tuesday at Katara. The attendees were invited to the screening tonight.
For more information and ticket, log on to www.dohafilminstitute.com. Tickets will be available at the Box Office at MIA before the screening.
